Background
On Friday, September 3rd, 2021, I hiked to Iceberg Lake and then through the Ptarmigan Tunnel. The hike was 15.7 miles, completed in 6 hours.
I woke up at Johnson's Campground and RV Park and then went down the dirt road, which was under construction with delays, to the trailhead for the hike. First, I hiked to Icebeg Lake, then I went back to where the trail split and went up to Ptarmigan Tunnel. I was told to go through the tunnel and down a few hundred feet so that I could then see a glacier on the other side. On the hike I saw a moose and a deer.
That night, I camped at Leaning Tree Cafe and Campground. It was $25 and another $5 for permission to shower. The campsite had WiFi inside the store so I was able to connect and plan for my next drive.
