My Trip To Peak 10
On Friday, July 3rd, 2020, I decided to hike to the summit of Peak 10 (13,640 feet high) in Breckenridge, Colorado from the Breckenridge Nordic Center. Excluding the beginning and last segment to the summit, the hike took place on a dirt and rocky road.
I began the hike at 8:36AM and completed at 3:56PM, it was over 13 miles round trip. The sky was mostly clear as I started and became more cloudy along the way. After descending around noon, rain clouds came and there was intermittent rain all the way down.
Most people who do this hike would drive up the top of the Mercury Chairlift to begin. Many people hiking to the summit had skis or a snowboard. It was possible to get down this way, although there were rocks.
Overall, there are incredible views but make sure to watch the weather. This usually means being off the summit by noon.
