Background

I decided to visit Plitvice Lakes National Park on Monday, August 12th, 2019, after attending Mo:Dem Festival nearby. I got to the lakes by a taxi which I was connected to by an inn that I was staying at. It cost 200 Kuna to get to the lakes from where I was staying and 150 back. I contacted the driver via WhatsApp.

There are two entrances to the lakes, I was dropped off at the second entrance near a hotel. From here, I was presented with different options for visiting the park. I decided to walk the H path, which was to take 4-6 hours. At one point, I needed to board a boat to connect to the remainder of the path. There are other paths you can take, some further, some shorter. This was all that I had time to do however.

The 16 lakes offer stunning colors and countless waterfalls. The water is very clear and one can see fish in the lakes easily. The lakes get very busy and the distance is far, so be prepared. If the main entrance is too busy, consider entering the back entrance.
