Impression
Reykjadalur Valley offers a hot spring hike near Reykjavík, Iceland. The hike takes around 45 minutes from the parking lot. This is a very touristy location, do not expect any solitude, the parking lot could have well over 100 cars.
I arrived at the parking lot close to 10:00AM and there were still many cars. I would recommend arriving as early in the morning as possible for the best experience.
Bring warm clothing, a bathing suit and a towel. Some people bring beers to enjoy while in the hot spring.
I found this hot spring to offer a much more natural and far less touristy experience than the Blue Lagoon. Both should be experienced in Iceland but like the best things in Iceland, working to get where you want, often through hikes, provides the best reward.
