Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge - Wildlife Drive

Background

On Sunday, February 7th, 2021, I drove out to Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge for a self-guided driving tour. It's located just outside Denver, Colorado. There is an 11-mile Wildlife Drive that goes through a bison pasture, grasslands, wetlands and woodlands. All of the photos I took were taken from the car I was renting by opening the window. One should not get out of their car on the tour. The road is one-way and people often pull off on the sides to take photos from their vehicle.

The Wildlife Drive is open 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset and is closed on holidays. During my time there, it was very windy with lots of dust in the air. Overall, this is an easy trip to make outside of Denver that allows one to see mountains, wildlife and the city from the comfort of their vehicle for free.
