On Monday, December 19th, 2022, I hiked the Te Paki Sand Dunes on New Zealand's North Island. These sand dunes are much larger and more popular than the Ahipara Sand Dunes. At the parking location, you can rent a small board to slide down the sand dunes while sitting on the board.
Overall, these are very large sand dunes and one could spend hours traveling over them to the ocean and forest.
