Brač and Hvar Islands Boat Tour

Last updated: January 28th, 2024

Background

On Tuesday, August 16th, 2022 I went boating from Split through Absolute Charter to several different islands. In 2019, I had stayed near Hvar Town for a few nights and gained an appreciation of the Croatian Islands. This time I went on a private boat to explore more islands and be on my own schedule.

We first stopped on the island of Brač for coffee and to explore a church. After this we went to a small beach to swim. The water, like much of the coastline was very clear. The shore is more rocks than sand. Next we briefly went into a military tunnel which was used by boats to hide at some point in the past.

Later, we went to the Golden Horn Beach which is a famous and very popular beach as it has a beach on both sides. Here we did paddle boarding. On one side of the beach, further down by a cove is a small nude beach area.

Following the Golden Horn Beach, we went to the town of Bol which has a house inside of a house. On this island there were anchovy fish and chips, which were amazing. The last stop was for lunch on the island of Hvar.

After a late lunch, it took about 1.5 hours to get back to Split. Overall, it was a beautiful boat ride with many smaller towns. The biggest attraction was the Golden Horn Beach, which is very busy. If you want to take a bit more time then a private boat tour may make sense for you.
