McCullough Gulch Trail

Background

On Wednesday, August 31st, 2022, I hiked to White Falls and Lower Lake in McCullough Gulch. Due to overcrowding, you have to park in a lot, pay a fee and take a shuttle to do this hike. You can get the permit to do the hike here. The shuttle comes from the lot to the drop off every 10-15 minutes.

From the trailhead, the hike to White Falls on McCullough Gulch Trail Number 43 is 1 mile and 1.4 miles to Lower Lake. With many stops along the way, the total hike took about 3.5 hours.

Overall, this is a relatively moderate hike with some steeper sections to get to the lake. Both the lake and waterfall are worth seeing. Although there is a fee to park and take a shuttle, it does reduce the amount of people that would otherwise be on the trail.
