Experience
During August 17th-23rd, 2017, Oregon Eclipse Festival occurred at Big Summit Prairie. The festival, which was held to observe the Total Solar Eclipse, sold out, attracting over 30,000 people from around the world. Each morning, weather permitting, festival goers had the opportunity to partake in a hot air balloon ride over the festival around sunrise.
I took advantage of the hot air balloon ride experience after dancing all night. It was my first time in a hot air balloon and was well worth it, lasting over 30 minutes. Going up into the air gave a sense of the massiveness of the festival. I learned about how hot air balloons maneuver and welcomed the day from the sky.
