Impression

On Saturday, August 25th, 2018 around 10AM, I visited Salt Point State Park. It's a state park in Sonoma County, California. It offers hiking, biking, horseback riding, diving, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. There is camping in Salt Point as well.

The park is named after the formation of salt crystals in the rocky coastline. The Kashaya Pomo collected salt from this area. Abalone chisels were used to scape sale off of the rocks.

It's free to enter Salt Point and there are a few parking lots along the California 1 which are also trailheads. It takes about 3 hours to get to Salt Point from San Francisco.

Salt Point offers stunning coastline and rock formations in a day trip from San Francisco. See drone footage recorded during this trip to Salt Point here.
