Teutonia Peak Trail

Last updated: January 28th, 2024

Background

On Saturday, February 16th, 2019, I drove from Barstow to the Mojave National Preserve to hike Teutonia Peak Trail in the morning. It was somewhat cold and slightly windy, there was ice on the ground in many places and on the rocks. The hike path goes up to the peak and then from there continuing to the top of the various rock peaks required climbing on boulders.

While hiking, I noticed only one other hiker before me but many others came after me. I saw jackrabbits along the trail. Teutonia Peak Trail has a large concentration of Joshua trees.
