John Frazer Cabin

On Saturday, October 17th, 2020 at 4:00PM, I arrived at Colorado's Golden Gate Canyon State Park and began hiking as far as I could before dark. I ended up going on a trail along the Blue Grouse trail which then forked to the Mule Deer trail. Before it got too late, I was able to get to Frazer Meadow, where the John Frazer Cabin remains.

The hike is 4.2 miles round trip, most of it is in the trees. Along this trail were many Aspen trees which had all just shed their leaves onto the ground. A few weeks prior would have displayed many golden leaves.

Overall, this is a fairly easy hike. Just remember which trails you are on and keep track of the time to prevent hiking in the dark. This would be a hike to do as the leaves change during mid-September. For more details, see the hike on AllTrails.
